Abstract
In order to examine chemical control measure on three conifer as well as three broad leaved weed species in three forest nurseries in northern Iran, an
experiment was conducted with 9 herbicides in a split plot Design. Herbicides applied were Trifluralin and E.p.T.c. as pre planting, At arin, Bromacil, oxadiazon, chlortahal-dimethyl as pre emergrn". und Dalaporl Paraquat and Glyphosate as post- emergence herbicides with three different doses (low, medium, high) and a control plot. Trifluralin at 1.0 and 1.5 Kg a.i./ha as preplanting incorporated into soil, oxadiazon at 2 and 3 Kg aj.lha and chlorthal-dimethyl at 9.0 and 12.0 Kg aj./ha applied as pre-emergence had significantly controlled weeds growth without any harmful effect on nursery plants. The results indicated that Bromacil averagely reduced weeds but injured the seedlings of the forest plants.
