Abstract
Spartium junceum  from papilionaceae family which is distributed in south of Europe, Spain & France. It is breeding as ornamental in Iran. Flower of plant is used as laxative and the essential oil is consist of esteric compounds and farnesene which is applied in perfumery industry.
As part of screening programme on the aromatic plants of Iran, we are going to report the chemical composition of the essential oil from this plant which is named locally “Gol-Tavousi”.
