| Abstract | ||
| Cotton is an important industrial plant that is annually attacked by numerous pests, especially the cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera (Lep. Noctuidae). In this study, field and laboratory bioassay experiments were carried out to evaluate the resistance of two lines 3701 and 1524 in comparison with Golestan cultivar in Inchboron's quarantine conditions with a Completely Randomized Design with three replications in 2019. In the field experiment, the third instar larvae were carried out in transparent cages on the branches containing boll and leaf. The third instar larvae in field conditions fed two transgenic lines after 7 days, 71±0.01 percent in line 3701, 67±0.02 percent in line 1524, in comparing with control cultivar had 59±0.02 percent mortality. The statistical results in Tukey tests were significant at the level of 0.05. To evaluate the accuracy of field results, the leaf disk technique was used by daily repeated measures. Also, the experimental results of leaf disc showed high resistance and larval mortality in transgenic lines. The effects of transgenic treatments on the mortality rate of third instar larvae in different cultivars and time series showed that GMO lines produced the highest statistical mortality in comparison with control cultivar. However, the two transgenic lines were not significantly different in mortality. | ||
