| Pasteurella multocida is a gram-negative, opportunistic pathogen and the common inhabitant of the upper respiratory tract of domesticated and wild animal species. It is a causative agent of numerous economically important diseases worldwide, such as enzootic bronchopneumonia in ruminants and haemorrhagic septicemia in cattle and buffalo. The present study was undertaken to determine the prevalence of P. multocida carriers, PCR-serogrouping and antibiotic susceptibility status of isolates detected in cattle and buffalo in Ahvaz, Iran. Nasopharyngeal and nasal swabs were collected from 227 cattle and 174 buffaloes. The swabs were streaked on MacConkey and sheep blood agar and incubated for 24-48 h at 37 °C. The presumptive P. multocida colonies were identified based on standard biochemical testing and further confirmed by PCR. A multiplex PCR was used to determine the five pathogen serogroups (i.e., A, B, D, E, and F). Antimicrobial susceptibility of P. multocida isolates was determined using the Kirby–Bauer disc diffusion method on Mueller-Hinton agar supplemented with 5% sheep blood. Out of 401 tested samples, P. multocida was recovered from 10/227 (4.4%) and 12/174 (6.89%) cattle and buffaloes, respectively. Fifteen isolates (68.19%) belonged to serogroup A, 5 (22.72%) to serogroup D, and 2 (9.09%) isolates were untypeable. No isolate belonged to B, E, and F serogroups. All P. multocida isolates were sensitive to nitrofurantoin, florfenicol, ciprofloxacin, enrofloxacin, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, oxytetracycline, and ceftriaxone. The most common finding was resistance to tylosin (90.9%), followed by resistance to oxacillin (54.54%). | ||

| پاستورلا مولتوسیدا باکتری گرم منفی، پاتوژن فرصت طلب و فلور نرمال قسمت فوقانی دستگاه تنفس گونههای جانوری اهلی و وحشی است. این باکتری عامل بیماریهای مهمی از لحاظ اقتصادی در سراسر جهان از جمله برونکوپنومونی انزوتیک در نشخوارکنندگان و سپتی سمی هموراژیک در گاو و گاومیش است. مطالعه حاضر به منظور تعیین میزان شیوع حاملین پاستورلا مولتوسیدا در گاو و گاومیش در اهواز، تعیین سروگروپهای کپسولی باکتری و سنجش حساسیت آنتی بیوتیکی جدایهها بود. به این منظور سواب های نازوفارنکس و بینی از تعداد 227 گاو و 174 گاومیش جمع آوری شد. سوابها در محیط مک کانکی و آگار خون دارگوسفندی کشت داده شد و به مدت 24-48 ساعت در 37 درجه سانتی گراد انکوبه شدند. پرگنه های مشکوک به پاستورلا مولتوسیدا بر اساس تستهای بیوشیمیایی استاندارد، شناسایی و با واکنش زنجیرهای پلیمراز تایید شدند. همچنین از واکنش زنجیرهای پلیمراز چندگانه برای تعیین پنج سروگروپ کپسولی اصلی باکتری (A، B، D،E وF) استفاده شد. سنجش حساسیت آنتی بیوتیکی جدایههای پاستورلا مولتوسیدا نیز با استفاده از روش انتشار از دیسک (کربی-بائر) در محیط مولر هینتون آگار غنی شده با 5 درصد خون گوسفند انجام شد. از 401 نمونه گرفته شده، پاستورلا مولتوسیدا به ترتیب از 227/10(4/4 درصد) و 174/12(89/6 درصد) گاو و گاومیش جدا گردید. 15 جدایه (19/68 درصد) متعلق به سروگروپ A، 5 جدایه (72/22 درصد) به سروگروپ D و 2 جدایه (09/9 درصد) غیر قابل تیپ بندی بود. هیچ کدام از جدایه ها متعلق به سروگروپهایB،E و F نبودند. تمام جدایههای پاستورلا مولتوسیدا به نیتروفورانتوئین، فلورفنیکول، سیپروفلوکساسین، انروفلوکساسین، تری متوپریم سولفامتوکسازول، اکسی تتراسایکلین و سفتریاکسون حساس بودند. بیشترین مقاومت نسبت به تایلوزین (9/90 درصد) و سپس نسبت به اگزاسیلین (54/54 درصد)، استرپتومایسین (45/45 درصد)، آمپی سیلین (27/27 درصد)، اریترومایسین (63/13) و پنی سیلین (1/9 درصد) بود. | ||
