The investigation of lethal and sub-lethal effects of citronellol and neem extraction in control of red citrus mite, Panonychus citri (Acari: Tetranychidae) | ||

| Panonychus citri (McGregor) (Acari: Tetranychidae) is an important pest species in the citrus growing world. Due to broad spectrum chemical pesticides applied on citrus orchards pests, P. citri became an important citrus orchard pest in the north of Iran. In this study, lethal and sub-lethal effects of two biocompatible compounds, citronellol and neem extract, were investigated on different developmental stages of citrus red mite using the potter spray tower method. The results showed that citronellol and neem had high toxicity on egg and larval mite stages with LC50 values of 245.55 and 666.94 mg/L, respectively. The sub-lethal effects of citronellol and neem extract on adult citrus red mite in comparison control significantly reduced fecundity (0.1, 1.5 and 18.03 eggs/female, respectively), fertility (0.066, 1.07 and 17 hatched eggs/female, respectively) and longevity (5.43, 5.86 and 11.83 days, respectively). The results showed appropriate control effects of biomite® and neem extract against early growth stages of the citrus red mite with an environmental protection approach. Therefore, these compounds could be recommended in the program of resistance management of this pest. | ||

| کنۀ قرمز مرکبات، Panonychus citri (McGregor) (Acari:Tetranychidae) یک آفت مهم گیاهی در مناطق کشت مرکبات جهان است. استفاده از آفتکشهای شیمیایی با طیف اثر وسیع علیه این گونه و دیگر آفات در مناطق مرکباتکاری، این کنه را به یک آفت جدی در باغهای مرکبات در حاشیه دریای خزر درآورده است. اثرات کشندگی و زیرکشندگی دو ترکیب زیستسازگار سیترونلول و عصارهی چریش روی مراحل مختلف زندگی کنۀ قرمز مرکبات با استفاده از روش برج پاشش مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. نتایج نشان داد که سیترونلول روی مرحله تخم و عصارهی چریش روی مرحلهی لاروی به ترتیب با LC50 معادل 55/245 و 94/666 میلیگرم بر لیتر، سمیت بالایی داشتند. بررسی اثرات زیرکشندگی سیترونلول و عصارهی چریش روی مادههای بالغ کنۀ قرمز مرکبات در مقایسه با شاهد باعث کاهش معنیدار باروری (1/0، 5/1 و 03/18 تخم به ازای هر ماده به ترتیب)، زادآوری (066/0، 07/1 و 17 تخم تفریخ شده به ترتیب) و طول عمر (43/5، 86/5 و 83/11 روز به ترتیب) شد. در کل نتایج نشان دهندهی اثر مناسب ترکیبات سیترونلول و عصارهی چریش در کنترل مراحل ابتدایی رشد کنۀ قرمز مرکبات با رویکرد حفاظت از محیط زیست بود. از اینرو، میتوان استفاده از این ترکیبات را در برنامهی مدیریت مقاومت برای کنترل این کنه پیشنهاد کرد. | ||
