Abstract | ||
The development of greenhouse crop cultivation in Iran is considered one of the most important policies for increasing agricultural productivity and strategic water management. In Kerman province, due to weather conditions and limited water resources, the conditions for the development of greenhouses have been provided; so that after Tehran province, it has the second place in the area under greenhouse cultivation in the country. Therefore, the economic review and evaluation of greenhouse products of the province and the introduction of products with high economic advantage and production for the market can open the way for the development of greenhouse crops and their replacement with water-bearing crops in the province and create higher economic benefits for producers. The aim of the present study is the economic evaluation of lemon in greenhouse conditions of Kerman city. Due to the lack of lime production in the greenhouses of the city, lime greenhouses in Mazandaran province were used to collect information. The population of these greenhouses in 1401 was 110, and according to the available conditions and facilities, 20 questionnaires were allocated for this purpose. Also, for economic evaluation, net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR) and Dynamic Payback Period capital (DPBP) indices were used, and Comfar software was used to calculate the indices. The results of the study showed that the production of lemon in greenhouse condition is economic based on both scenarios (18% and 24% discount rate), and in this regard, it is suggested to introduce this product as an economic product to the greenhouse owners of the province. Also, necessary promotional trainings should be given by related institutions to familiarize greenhouse owners with the cultivation of this product. In addition, financial support should be provided to encourage farmers to cultivate this product in greenhouse conditions. | ||
